Was extremely happy that I found Steve and his ‘Bilateral Thais’ translation service. Firstly his rates as a professionally accredited NAATI (National Accreditation Authority for Translators and Interpreters) Thai to English translator were very reasonable. Secondly he provided a seamless and professional service.

Despite our first two daughter's Thai translated birth certificates being acceptable to the Australian embassy in Thailand for citizenship and passport issuance, the translations were ironically of no standing for passport applications submitted in Australia, necessitating further expensive NAATI registered translators in Australia who really have you over a barrel when it comes to charging. As such, it was great to discover a NAATI registered translator also servicing clients in Thailand which meant that the translation of our third daughter’s Thai birth certificate was recognized by Australian authorities, whether outside or onshore Australia, and also done at a reasonable price.

As a further bonus, given our daughter was also eligible for NZ citizenship, we found that Steven’s professional NAATI accreditation was also accepted under Australia-New Zealand mutual recognition agreements. We saved quite an amount of money not having to pay the NZ government translation fee when Steven’s NAATI accredited translations were already accepted by the NZ authorities during the process of issuing our daughter’s NZ citizenship certificate.

Bilateral Thais translated my child’s Thai birth certificate from Thai to English. The service was prompt, courteous and reliable in completing the translation, which was requested within a short timeframe in order to apply for a passport. I was also impressed that the English translation included footnotes of cultural references, which were included in the Thai birth certificate, but do not directly translate into an English document/birth certificate.

Bilateral Thais provided a NAATI accredited translation (accreditation number stamped on the translated document) that is accepted for official purposes in Australia; such as passport applications, visa and citizenship matters, driver licence applications, etc. Getting an accredited translation of my child’s birth certificate has saved us having to organise and pay for an accredited translation later in my child’s life.
